New brief, and another program!
This brief gives me the chance to explore an area in which i have a firm interest in which gives me the opportunity to learn all the skills necessary to help me progress in this area.

The artist that i have been given is Catherine Griffiths(typographer), After listening to her interview on type radio i am going to concentrate on the text sculptures that she produced for the Writers walk in Wellington to draw inspiration for my double page spreads.

i have now finalised my work placements.
In the first week i will be at Veloce Publishing in Dorchester and In the second week i will be at Gold dust designs in the enterprise pavilion in Bournemouth.

Final crit and hand in of screen based communication.

Yesterday i had my final crit which i was not looking forward to as we have to hand in today, but to my surprise i got a good response to my animation and only had to make two minor adjustments.Today is the hand in and for once i feel prepared with my work all finished. Although i have enjoyed learning flash i can honestly say that it is a releif knowing that i don't have to use it for a while.

Over the last few weeks i have worked really hard to grasp the basics of flash, so that i could produce my final animation. I have now finished my animation about healthy living, and i am pleased with the final outcome because i am not as confident as i would like to be with the program.
My final animation is aimed at younger children and i think that the final outcome is an effective piece of screen based communication that informs young children about the health risks of obesity and offers facts and tips to help them get a healthier lifestyle.
Although at first i was worried about this project because i am not as confidents with computers but i am pleased with the final results and believe that i now have a good understanding of the basics of flash and wouldnt mind using the program again.

SCREEN BASED COMMUNICATION

New brief, and although i am not as confident as others in the group with the computer programs i am actually looking forward to learning flash. I have chosen to do the topic 'Healthy living' for my statistic focusing on child obesity when researching. i am hoping to produce a short animation that will promote healthy eating and living, using statistics about your food intake, exersise and also the health risks of child obesity.
After attending my first Flash workshop i now think i will be able to learn the program well enough to produce a decent animation, as long as i have solid research on my ideas and concepts.

Final thoughts about visual thinking

This project has been really difficult for me. i found the ideas generation the hardest as my overall concept was a strong and relevant one but the outcomes that i was producing for it were just proving unsuccessful. i ended up changing my ideas a lot as i seemed to get more negative feedback than positive, but in the end my final outcome worked with the concept behind and was easily assessable by my target audience.

so far through this project i have been really unenthusiastic because every time i have had any form of feed back it hasn't been good, but i have finally got a basic idea that i can hopefully push a little bit further in the next four days before hand in.

context and theory unit.

i found this unit intersting and the lectures and seminars each week were really helpful, and i feel that i have gained a strong basic understanding of semiotics.
unfortunatly i found it difficult to write my essay. although i had a basic understanding of semiotics it was difficult to use what i had learnt to produce a written semiotic analysis on an advert.
i do believe that i could of done better in this project if i had done some more research or spent more time on the essay.
