AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL VISIT!

26Th November we were visited by Barry Tempest who is involved in the Dorset group of Amnesty international.
This visit was an effective way to collect information and also it gave us the chance to ask any question about current campaigns, funding etc. Barry also informed us about the two documents that have been drafted to help protect human rights these are:
The Universal Declaration of human rights: this is not actual law but can be used as a starting point to fight for human rights.
The European Constitution of human rights: this is law and any country that signs this constitution will be prosecuted.

This day was really informative and now i am going to look more into current campaigns within amnesty also look at old and new campaigns to see what approach will work the best.

Final Views......

My first unit handed in and complete, it feels so good.
overall i really enjoyed text and image because it gave me the chance to learn alto of new techniques and processes.
i am pleased with the final imagery i produced and how it all works well together as a final book.
I found this unit really tiring as i was trying to get back into a routine, and also it was a lot of small projects so it seemed like i had loads of work, at times it felt like i couldn't get it all done.
anyway now its time to think about the new brief, an advertising campaign for amnesty international which i am really looking forward to as i have not yet done any advertising work.

So Many Techniques.......

I have been introduced to so many new techniques and programs throughout Text and Image which has been an enjoyable and at times frustrating experience.
Over the last couple of weeks whilst completing my projects within unit one i have been tought letterpress, photoshop, illustrator and Quark these have all helped me learn new skills and also have given me the opportunity to experiment with these new processes and produce outcomes that i would normally not be able to do.
i am now begining to think about the layout of my book and also ways of printing and the quality of the paper that i will use for my final one.
hannah has also been a great help because she gave use a taster session on book binding and showed us three different simple binding techniques and folds so that we had a starting point when designing our final books.
i am going to try and use all the skills that i have learnt so far to create an good final book.
